Sweet Talk

dillon_novak_interview
about: DILLON CHRISTIAN NOVAK

‘Sweet Talk’ takes place in a carboard room, with a cardboard city that parallels every location in the real work. The story is about a cardboard robot that is rejected by nearly every thing/person he encounters in life and finally give up. He finds love only after he rips his heart out.

Would you explain a bit about the process of creating the movie? What were the challenges and how you went around it?
LOOOOOOOTS of preproduction, and post production. Usually it is now only one to two days of shooting. The biggest challenge is pulling it all together and paying for it.

Post production on one music video and Pre production for another music video in October.

If you have a bachelor degree/education background; what is it?
Taken over four years of a variety of different film/multimedia classes.

Where are you located?
Colorado Springs, Colorado.

What would be your strangest assignment you have done? Why so?

Describe how you feel at the starting of a new project?
When i get started with a new project i feel amazing and unsure. Only closer to the actual shoot do i feel the full ecstasy of the process.

Making music videos for a living.

Could you share any insight for people just entering the field?

Endeavor media, they are a music video production company that i feel pushes the envelope with a new genre/style of music videos that i find prefect.

How do you overcome creative block?
I always sleep on it and surf the web, look at art, watch some other music videos. And if i ever get stuck in the middle of an idea i always try explaining it out loud to somebody and as you are going you most of the time elaborate further on ideas that you didn’t even know were there!

What’s one thing you wish you knew when beginning this passion?
People want everything for nothing.
