Commitment To Evolve Art

Your Full Name.
Peter John Stanton II esq. Friends call me Peter or MT
Tell us about you.
Let’s see… I’m pretty much an open book. I have spent a good chunk of my life devoted to art in one form or another. I work in design for a living but obviously my passion is for fine art nude and fetish photography.
I was involved in music thru most of the 80s and did the big ‘I wanna be rich and famous’ thing. Im fairly active in the local fetish scene but don’t take it too seriously. I spend way too much time in front of the computer between work and editing.
I love coffee, smoke too much and havent watched TV in over 8 months… My favourite colour is black and I hope to one day own a E type Jaguar. I enjoy meeting people and secretly hope for world peace.
Where are you located?
Earth… third rock from the Sun… Baulkham Hills in Sydney Australia…
A great photographer is…..
Someone that is committed to evolving their art…
A good shot is not always the full worth of a good edit as well..Its just not that simple nowadays…
You have to be committed to learning constantly and willing to make some mistakes in order to get the really interesting stuff…
What drove you to become a photographer?
I cant say I was born with a camera in my hand but I have always been involved in teh arts in one way or another so its one of those mediums that I naturally took a liking to and had a fairly decent eye for it…
Originally I took photos of the bondage ties I did but that has kinda taken a back seat to the rest of what I do.
Tell us about your unique style and the creative process behind it?
For me the most important aspect of what I do is on a development basis. I work with my core group of grrls many times and its as much about knowing the other in a collaborative piece as it is about what goes on in the shoot.
Edit wise, I am constantly looking for new and different methods to bring the most out of an image.
If you were not a photographer, what would be the alternative career path you choose?
Well given I have done the whole music thing and work fulltime as a designer now… hmmm maybe run a kinky Bed and breakfast
How do you promote yourself?
by doing stuff like this
Most of my work is on Deviant art and I have been approaching a few publications to see if I can get soemthing featured lately.
What do you think about the Internet and how it is affecting the visual communication business?
The net is great. I have learned more in interactive tutorials online than I ever would by trial and error. I am constantly amazed at how broad an audience you can communicate with in a web based environment.
Could you share any insight for people just entering the profession?
Have fun… Make mistakes and learn from them and keep making the good mistakes special. Keep your eyes and mind open all the time and never stop learning.
Who is the person that you look up to in the professional world? Why so?
I dig togs like Chad Michael Ward for his grungy dark approach to what he does. I also love a lot of the stuff that is coming out of Russia at the moment. Purely for their fresh view on old subjects.
What music are you listening lately?
NIN, Crue, A Perfect Circle, Manson, lots of dark trance here and there
Name 3 your favorite books.
Not a great reader I’m afraid. I’d have to say maybe story of O, Guinness book of World records and any copy of National Geographic with naked native tities in it.
What do you like the smell of?
Love the smell of a good coffee brewing and Jasmin when its in bloom. Also love the smell of a hotel room after a night of debauchery but Im sure you cant say that
If you have online portfolio (website/awards/credits/client’s showcase), what is the URL?
