Tell us about you
I am a seventeen year old girl who used to live in Texas, Hawaii, and Italy. In my spare time I mostly draw, but I also enjoy beat boxing (badly). I believe my passion for art started when I won a kindergarten art contest, in which I received a humongous Oscar Mayer Wienermobile plushie as my prize.

What do you do when you are not producing artwork?
Lollygagging around the interwebs mostly. I also cook and bake a lot of food.
What drove you to become an illustrator?
I don’t know if I can be called an Illustrator officially, but I guess I like the way illustration always has a story to tell and to draw a story on paper is something I’ve always liked doing.
How do you promote/sell/showcase your work?
Various web sites around the internet.
What’s your way(s) to balancing work and life?
Sleeping, cat naps, etc.

Someone who has their own unique, distinct style.
Who is an illustrator that you look up to? Why so?
Charles Dana Gibson. I think I’m influenced by him the most because of his fine ink lines he works into his pictures. His art is so crisp and stylized-I love it.
What do you think about the Internet and how it is affecting the visual communication business?
I think the internet is a great place to show your artwork more quickly and easily. If it was thirty years ago, exposing my artwork to the public would have taken a lot more work than it is now. Also, having programs such as aim and msn makes it so convenient to talk to people all over the world. I am thankful for all of this technology.
What music are you listening lately?
Lately, I have been listening to the band Tearglass and Plateglass. Their music is very dark, trippy and beat-tastic. I like the creepy vibe their music gives off and it helps that nobody really knows who makes the songs.
How does the global economic recession affecting the industry, or the least affecting your business/ work?
I do not work for any industries…yet. Although, there is not doubt that the recession is hurting businesses today.

What do you like the smell of?, i.e. coffee brewing, morning grass, etc. Why so?
Gardenias, fresh baked cookies, smell of bacon, book shops, coffee shops, and candle shops. All of these smells make me feel comfortable and relaxed.
