Your Full Name
Gradinariu Veronica
Tell us about you
I’m a self-thought photographer who started all almost 4 years ago. I also study Genetics (I’m taking Master courses right now). I love reading, discovering new places, people.
In your opinion, what would be the secret ingredients to become a great photographer?
Talent and patience.

Where are you located?
Now I live in Romania, Iasi, but I’ll be heading for Vienna soon.
What would be your most rewarding experience becoming a photographer so far?
Discovering yourself through others and through your work.
Where do you get inspirations from?
Mostly from painting. Also, a lot of photographers from nowadays or from the beginning of photography (19th century) are a true source of inspiration and educational.
How do you promote/ sell/ showcase your work?
Mostly through internet. I also had several exhibitions in the country and I’m preparing for one in Salzburg. I also sell some of my works through Europe, by internet of course.

Define the word “beauty”
Innocence.
What types of assignment/ project are you attracted the most? Why so?
Well, I suppose my projects, so far, were my exhibitions. I never experienced something else, so I guess I can’t really answer this question
.
Who is a photographer that you look up to? Why so?
Well, actually, it is not a photographer, it is a sculptor – Constantin Brancusi. He’s the impersonation of simplicity, talent and dignity.
Describe a difficult work/ project situation and how would you overcome it?
To be honest, each of my exhibitions is a difficult situation. I’m always scared when one approaches. I’m always thinking that I don’t deserve such a wonderful thing.

What do you think about the Internet and how it is affecting the visual communication business?
The internet has its goods and its bads. Through the internet I found wonderful photographers and also, you found me
. Still, I think there are too many people who think they know photography and call themselves artists and confuse the simple watchers, this way, lowering the standards.
If you could turn back time, how would you do things differently?
Really, I don’t wanna turn back the time
.
How does the global economic recession affecting the industry, or the least affecting your business/ work?
It’s simple and painful: I don’t sell as many photos as I did before.

Name 3 of your favorite (art) books/ magazines.
I’m ashamed to admit that, but I don’t really read many art magazines. As for the books, well, anything that is painting, sculpture and photography related.
What is your life motto?
I don’t have one. I simply keep in mind not to hurt people around me.
What does “photography” mean to you?
It’s like staying under water for too long and you desperately need too breathe. Same with photography for me. Everything starts whit a need, a necessity. The necessity of liberate (yourself from) all the ideas, the thoughts, the feeling. Nothing grandiose. Just suffocating sometimes…
What do you like the sound of? Why so?
I like the sounds of autumn and spring … I’m not sure I can’t explain in words …
