about: CHRISTINA JACKSON
As of right now, I’m a college student studying Architecture at a local community college, soon to transfer to Lawrence Tech. I’ve been into photography now for about three years, but have only really published anything online for nearly two years. There’s not much to me other than I’m passionate about what I do.

A great photographer is…..
Someone who can see the beauty in everything that’s in front of their camera. Someone who has the desire to capture those things.
What drove you to become a photographer?
I’m not really sure, to tell the truth. I’ve always had a camera on me, film or digital, but didn’t really start getting into it until my freshman year of high school. I guess I was trying to be creative and photography was something that fulfilled that need.
Tell us about your unique photography style and the creative process behind it?
I’m a big vintage nerd. I love any thing with that vintage look or feel, so I always incorporate that into my photography. Whether I’m editing my photos to look vintage, or I’m taking a photo of a vintage camera, that feel is always in there.
If you were not a photographer, what would be the alternative career path you choose?
My career path is to be an architect, which has always been my plan A. I don’t think I could make it in the photography industry.
How do you promote yourself?
Mainly DeviantART. I post a few photos else where. But DA is my home.
What do you think about the Internet and how it is affecting the visual communication business?
I really haven’t thought much about this. I think that the Internet is a great way to reach out to people and visually communicate with them. How ever annoying it is to have to watch commercials before an online video, it does get you to sit there and watch it. It’s frustrating to see all these ads everywhere, too, but it’s affective.
Could you share any insight for people just entering the profession?
Don’t get discouraged every time you see something amazing. I have let that get me down way too many times. Just look at that as inspiration and keep working hard at it. You will get your time in the limelight sooner or later.
Who is the person that you look up to in the photography world? Why so?
I don’t really have a person to look up to for photography. As an artist, I look up to my Grandfather, who taught me to be creative. He gives me hope every time I feel down about what I create.

The only place that hosts all of my photography is DeviantART, http://forgottonphotography.deviantart.com/ I don’t have the time right now to produce and manage a personal site, but I do want to eventually.
